Land Clearing and Forestry Mulching in Sherwood, Arkansas

That wall of brush behind the back fence is not going to clear itself. We grind it down to clean, usable ground and give you a firm price before a single machine unloads; call (501) 208-6399 for a free estimate.

In Sherwood, the woods are never far from the back door. Half the lots in town end at a tree line, a creek bottom, or a strip of ground nobody has touched since the subdivision went in. That edge does not hold still. Give it five years and the back third of your property is briars, privet, and sweetgum saplings too thick to walk through. We grind all of it down to clean ground you can mow, fence, build on, or finally see across.

Brice Contracting does forestry mulching, land clearing, and site development across Central Arkansas, run by owner Austin Brice out of Hattieville. The mulcher grinds brush and small trees right where they stand and leaves the ground carpeted in mulch instead of ruts and piles. Nothing gets burned. Nothing gets hauled off. On a lot with neighbors on both sides, that matters. Bigger jobs get our excavators, dozers, and skid steers; every machine on the trailer is ours, so the right one shows up the first time.

Cost, straight up: forestry mulching projects start at $2,500. Hauling machines to a site costs real money, and that floor keeps the job honest on both ends. The estimate is free. Austin walks the property with you, you point out what goes and what stays, and you get a firm number before anything starts. Call (501) 208-6399; during business hours he typically calls back within 10 minutes.

Sherwood Ground: Creek Bottoms, Back Fences, and the North End

Sherwood is creek country. Bayou Meto starts as a handful of creeks in this corner of Pulaski County, and the low ground between neighborhoods holds water long enough to grow brush faster than anybody can cut it by hand. Lots backing up to those creeks and draws stay damp most of the year; privet and willow take damp ground first and give it back last. A tracked mulcher rides light enough to work that ground, and the mulch bed it leaves holds the soil in place instead of sending it down the creek with the next hard rain.

The other thing about Sherwood: it keeps filling in. New construction has pushed north along Highway 107 toward Gravel Ridge, the semirural end of town that joined the city in 2008 and still carries real acreage. That leaves plenty of property stuck between yard and woods: an acre of scrub behind the house, a skipped-over lot between two streets, a family tract that's been growing up since before the pavement arrived. Our shop sits in Hattieville, about an hour west, and Central Arkansas is the heart of our service territory. We work the whole state, but ground like this is the bread and butter.

What We Clear in Sherwood

A Hard Edge at the Back Fence

Your yard ends where the brush starts. We cut a straight, clean edge along the back of the property, ten feet deep or forty. Fewer ticks, fewer snakes, no more wall of privet staring at you from the deck.

Low Ground That Stays Damp

Damp ground grows brush thick, and it's the worst ground to clear by hand. Tracked machines ride light, grind everything standing, and leave a mulch bed that holds the soil instead of bare mud. If the ground's too wet to work right, we'll say so and come back when it's not.

Gravel Ridge and North-End Acreage

The north end of town still has real acreage: too much for a weekend and a chainsaw, too small for the big dirt-work outfits to bother with. It's exactly our size. We clear for shops, barns, gardens, pads, or just to put the land back under your control.

Lot Lines, Pins, and Posts

You can't set posts through ten years of growth, and a surveyor can't shoot a line through it either. We open up the boundary so you can fence it, survey it, or sell it knowing exactly where your property starts and stops.

In-Town Lots for Builders

Sherwood's skipped-over lots are getting houses now. We clear, grub, and rough out the pad so your crew starts on dirt, not in a thicket. Excavator, dozer, skid steer: all ours, scheduled around your build, not a rental counter.

Every Service, One Crew

We bring our own equipment to every Sherwood job: forestry mulching, land clearing, and site development. No subcontractors, no rental delays.

"I really loved working with you all and plan on having you come back!"
